About Family Ties Therapy

Why Choose Family Ties Therapy?

I am Dionne Miller, a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I provide in-person therapy in Spokane, WA and telehealth services to residents of both Washington and Idaho. I received my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University and have served my community for over 3 years of experience.

I believe therapy should be practical, collaborative, and tailored to the realities of everyday life.

My work is informed by evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relationship Development Model, the Gottman Method (Level 2), and other relationship-focused interventions. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, I help clients build skills they can continue using long after therapy ends.

My goal is to help you find steadier footing—whatever season you're in.I also provide sexually informed couples therapy, supporting partners in navigating intimacy, desire differences, sexual communication, and the impact of life transitions, trauma, or betrayal on their sexual relationship. My approach creates a safe, respectful space where conversations about sex and connection can feel open, affirming, and grounded in trust.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring lived experience to the work. I've navigated career changes, caregiving, raising children into adulthood, caregiving family, grief, and more than three decades of marriage. While your journey is uniquely your own, I understand that life's transitions often bring both loss and opportunity.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, animals, gardening, and tackling home improvement projects. These hands-on interests reflect my grounded, practical, and compassionate approach to therapy—helping clients create meaningful, sustainable change during times of uncertainty.

My goal is to help you find steadier footing—whatever season you're in.
