Growing Through Change

A therapy series exploring how life's biggest transitions challenge us—and how we can respond with intention.

Life doesn't just happen to us—it changes us.

Some changes are joyful. Others are heartbreaking. Many are both at the same time.

Whether you're getting married, welcoming a baby, launching your last child into adulthood, caring for aging parents, navigating divorce, retiring, grieving a loss, or wondering who you are in the middle of menopause, every transition asks something of us.

It asks us to release one version of life while growing into another.

As a marriage and family therapist, I've found that many people come to therapy believing something has gone wrong because they feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain. Often, those feelings aren't signs of failure—they're signs that life is asking them to adapt.

Growth is rarely comfortable. In fact, I’d go so far as to say, growth can’t happen when we are comfortable.

It's more than learning new skills. Growth means reshaping our identity, redefining our relationships, and discovering new ways of showing up for ourselves and the people we love. Every transition changes us, but it also offers an opportunity to become more intentional about who we want to be.

Throughout this series, we'll explore why life's biggest transitions create so much emotional upheaval, what happens in our brains and relationships during seasons of change, and practical ways to navigate those changes with greater awareness, self-compassion, resilience, and connection.

While we can't control every transition life brings, we can choose how we respond to it.

Change is inevitable.

How we show up is intentional.

And you don't have to navigate the journey alone.
